Redhill get knocked out at Thamesmead Town.

Redhill travelled to lowly placed Thamesmead Town hoping for a good result after two wins on the bounce.

With Andy Greaves injured last week, Chris Duffy returned in goal and the bench featured 18 year old Leyton Regan, a young academy boy who has showed potential in the Redhill Youth Team this year.

Redhill kicked off and in the first 10 minutes wre comfortable on the ball and had a fair amount of possesion. In the first meaningfull attack Niall Egan crossed the ball from the right, the ball zipped off the fast playing surface across the six yard box with no one on the end of it, although Tre Mitford tried to get a touch on it as it sped past the far post.

In the 15 minute Chris Duffy blocked a straight shot from their full back and gathered at the second attempt.

In the 32nd minute the game was to change dramatically when the referee gave a straight red card to Richmond Kissi for what he deemed "violent conduct" after the Thamesmead centre back had closed in for a bouncing ball on half way.

Redhill tried to take the game to Thamesmead and Joe Bingham was forever a threat to the defence when making runs into the channels.

With ten men Redhill had to adjust and sit in with ten minutes to go before half time.
HT0-0

The second half was difficult for Redhill and it was hard work for all players as Thamesmead grew in confidence. Tre Mitford was sacrificed for Gavin Gordon and soon after Matt Robinson replaced Niall Egan in an effort to pose problems down the right hand side.
Thamesmead began to press forward and Chris Duffy made two excellant blocks to keep Thamesmead at bay.

In the 65th minute Redhill switched off from a throw in and it was the big stiker who got free on the right hand side to smash a shot past Chris Duffy for the first goal.

Five minutes later Bradley Duke gave a way a needless penalty when he failed to clear from his own goalline and was dispossessed by Jon Main.
Duke tried to recover but only succeeded in fouling Main and a penalty was awarded. Jon Main sruck it to Duffys left and the keeper got a hand on it but couldnt stop it going in.
Several half cahnces were created by Redhill, Gordon with a left foot shot, Matt Robinson with a right foot shot over the bar and a Bingham curling shot around the post was all that Redhill could offer.

In an effort to even things up Chris Gregson came on for Joe Bingham but in the end a 0-2 defeat was the result.
