Redhill march on to the next round after winning at Cray Valley PM.

Redhill travelled to East London team Cray Valley PM looking to continue their fine form.

Redhill without injured captain Jon Difford due to a slight achilles problem, gave the shirt to young ex Youth team player Jeffrey Addo Dankwa. Jeffrey set up alongside experienced Sean Kelly in the middle of the back four. With Andy Greaves taking a well earned rest, keeper Chris Duffy came in for his first start this season. Otherwise the team remained unchanged from the Guernsey win.

Cray started with a 4-5-1 formation and tried to find the front man with some neat early passing movements. Playing down the sloping pitch Cray were soon pressing the Redhill back four and it was proving difficult for Redhill to get their passing together in the first 20 minutes. Jeffrey and Sean Kelly made some nice interceptions and timely tackles and gradually Redhill began to find their way into the game.

Following an in field run and pass from Niall Egan to Richmond Kissi touched the ball to Gavin Gordon on the right who took a touch and unleashed an unstoppable right foot drive into the top corner of the net. A fantastic finish from the in form striker in the 25th minute.

This seemed to shock Cray and the rest of the firt half was played out in the typical Redhill way with hard working midfielder Sam Robinson and the raiding Joe Bingham snuffing out any Cray moves.
HT 0-1

The second half started with Redhill controlling the game but not really threatening the Cray goal. Cray were trying to press Redhill back and with Jeffrey's defensive qualities shining through the young player was winning headers, taking interceptions and defending brillantly. Richmond Kissi had a great chance to extend the lead after great work by Josh Bonnett on the right hand side, the cross coming in to Kissi, but the Cray keeper made a fantastic block to deny him.

Substitutions by Redhill with Ryan Briggs coming on for Sam Robinson who starts a three match suspension and soon after young Tre Mitford replacing Josh Bonnett.
Cray were pressing forward and Sean Kelly's last ditch tackle and a goal line clearance kept the score the same. An appeal for a penalty by Cray was waved away after Kelly had nicked the ball.
Keeper Duffy then made a great save low down to deny Cray an equaliser in a period where Cray were really trying everything to score.

Manager Mike Maher made his last change in the game when he sent on "crowd favorite" Chris Gregson for Richmond Kissi and for his first game this season in the first team. Gregson was rewarded almost immeadiately, when a break on the left saw Niall Egan slip the ball through to Gregson whose first touch took him away from the lunging defender and then around the on rushing keeper to slide the ball into the net. A great stikers finish.

FT 0-2

Redhill will be away to Thamesmead in the next round.
