Redhill travelled to Staines Lammas looking to continue their great league form, and make it six wins on the bounce.
Gavin Gordon gave a debut to top scorer in the division Kieran Campbell, who the club signed from South Park Reserves in the week. Tony Halsey & Chris Ransome were both injured for the trip, and Marcus Farr was unavailable. Ben Mizen moved from right back into the centre alongside Luke Jones, and Aaron Murphy dropped to right back.
The Lobsters started brightly in the freezing cold conditions, and they looked to get the ball forward early on a tricky surface. Although the Reds started well it was Vokaty who was called into action first, making a decent stop to deny the hosts.
Redhill carved out their first opening of the afternoon on eleven minutes, and it was so nearly the opener. A good cross was met by Kery Kedze who's header smacked off the bottom of the post but Staines survived.
The reds did however find an opener two minutes later, a corner wasn't dealt with by the home side, and as the ball popped up new man Campbell rose highest to nod home his 14th league goal of the season, and first for his new club.
Redhill were now dominating the game, and really imposed themselves on Staines. Daniel Bransbury done really well down the right and found Kedze who turned on the edge of the box but couldn't hit the target.
It was two in the 21st minute, the reds pressure paying off once more. Ben Mizen launched a long throw from the right, which dropped right onto the foot of Campbell and he had the simple task of firing home his second.
A minute later the game was effectively over, and Kieran Campbell had bagged himself a hat trick on his debut. Good play by the reds eventually found its way to Sam Marks, his shot was blocked on the edge of the box. The ball fell to Campbell, he took the ball away from the defender and finished brilliantly, left footed across the keeper, the ball nestling in the corner of the net.
The Lobsters could and should have gone in at the break with a bigger lead. A cross from the left cannoned off a Staines defender and onto the post, but came out and into the grateful arms of the keeper. The keeper was involved in the next chance, he came out of his area to head clear, his header only found hat trick hero Campbell whose lob bounced before hitting the bar.
The second half took a while to get going, the Reds found it harder to create chances. The playing surface starting to cause them problems, and Staines playing with more vigour.
The first chance of the second half for the Lobsters came on the hour, Aiden Cawte beat his man down the left and sent in a brilliant cross, Top scorer Sam Marks rose, but his header was well blocked for a corner.
The home side though had a lifeline five minutes later, a lovely little through ball found Josh Gichard, he slotted past Vokaty to make it 3-1.
Gavin Gordon was forced into a change with twenty minutes to play, new signing and hat trick hero Campbell who has missed the last few weeks had to be replaced, and Reece Brewster was the man to replace him.
The reds looked a little frustrated as the game entered the latter stages, as they looked to regain their three goal lead. Marlon Pinder tried his luck after the Lobsters best move of the second half, shooting over from the edge of the area.
The game ended in a sour way, a sending off for a Lammas defender after a tackle on Kery Kedze, Kedze had to be replaced by youth product James Bessant.
In the end all that mattered was the three points to keep the reds in third, and make it six wins in a row in the league.
Manager Gavin Gordon said "We asked the lads to change the way we normally play today due to the pitch. We wanted to get the ball forward quickly and try to play in their half, our tactics worked in that first half as we made lots of chances, scored three and hit the woodwork three times.
We didn't really get going in the second half, but defended well when we needed too, we could of still scored a couple more, but in the end we are happy to win. We wanted a response after the disappointment of Tuesday night, and we got that."
Next up for the reds is a Combined Counties Division One Cup match against Balham, at Kiln Brow. Then Ash United make the trip to Kiln Brow next Saturday in the league.
