The Lobsters were beaten 2-0 on an eventful night at the Brow.

Redhill's unbeaten run stretching back eight weeks came to an end at a wet and windy Kiln Brow last night. A very good Egham side, who are now just three points off second spot in the Premier Division table, won 2-0 with two second-half efforts from distance. The Reds started confidently, as you would expect after four wins on the bounce, and the first shot from Gary Abisogun came after 20 seconds. Both 'keepers were in top form in that first half, Luke Daley for Egham superbly pushing away a blast from Francis Tango that seemed destined for the corner and Jack Minchin being continually alert as the visitors started to dominate play towards the break.

Mo Diakite, with seven goals in his previous four matches, broke through three minutes into the second period to force Daley into another full-length save but it was the visitors who took the lead on 61 minutes direct from Kiemon Robinson's right-wing corner swirling in the wind. It got a little messy after that with both Diakite and skipper Jon Trotter being sin-binned and, with Mo off the field, Robinson's free-kick for Egham on 72 minutes beat an unsighted Minchin to make it 2-0.

The Reds kept pushing forward to try and reduce the arrears, despite tiredness creeping in on a heavy pitch, and near the end there was a huge scramble in the six-yard box following a corner when it seemed we had to score. Egham eventually cleared the danger but at some cost, Rory Da Costa having to be taken to nearby East Surrey Hospital in an ambulance with a shoulder muscle injury. We hope he is back in action soon.
