Redhill 5-2 Sandhurst Town - Premier Challenge Cup

Redhill tasted victory in this Premier Challenge Cup 1st round tie against a Sandhurst Town side that came prepared and despite the final scoreline, put up a fight.

Redhill took the lead on 12 minutes when Reece Brewster did what Reds fans have been asking, had a go, and he did have a go, from outside the box, a low driven strike that fizzed past the visitors 'keeper.

Just 12 minutes later Redhill doubled their lead when Luke jones played a lovely ball forward and found the feet of Marlon Pinder, who considered lobbing the man between the sticks, but opted instead to tak it past the goalkeeper and slide into the net off the post.

Luke Jones was a star performer of the 1st half with his through balls and passes into the channels, and he set up the 3rd goal with a clever pass into the path of Joshua Kadou, who took it on and fired the home side into a 3 goal lead.

Sandhurst started to mount a fight back with Matthew Cooped hitting the post and then with six minutes left until half time, they levelled via Alexanda Jaffers who cannoned a free kick on the edge of the box into the roof of the net.

7 minutes into the second half, Jaffers struck again, weaving and turning in the box, with penalty shouts coming from visiting fans, Jaffers was cool in the box, making it 3-2 and puttign Redhill reds on edge.

However, Redhill pulled further ahead on 57 minutes when Alex Fillipe put in a cross that somehow sailed over Matthew Watson and ended up in the Sandhurst goal.

On 65 minutes, Josh Kadou grabbed his second and the games final goal, hitting home a near post effort.

Redhill are back in league action on Saturday with a trip to Guildford City.
