The Reds suffered defeat by a team outside the top 6 for the first time this season.

Redhill 1 Horley Town 3 - Saturday, 19th March 2022

Redhill were leading at half-time and looking good for three points against local rivals Horley at the Brow on Saturday. But in a hugely disappointing second half they conceded three times and finished with ten men after Tom McNamee's red card.

The Lobsters were on the front foot in the opening minutes on a sunny spring-like afternoon with Jayden Edwards and Derick Hayford, the latter starting his first game for seven months, linking up particularly well on the right flank. But it was 25 minutes before we opened our account. Then the busy Hayford pulled the ball back from the byeline, Lucas Atkins missed his kick but Jamarie Brissett behind him blasted high into the net for his eleventh goal of the season.

The Magic Man looked certain to double his tally five minutes before half-time but Horley 'keeper George Hyde, confident throughout, blocked Brissett's hard low shot with his left foot. Then Bailey McCarthy received a short corner from Atkins in space and fired over an effort that struck the bar.

The much-improved visitors put a series of swift attacks together in the second period - finding the net through Adam Grant (51 minutes), Andy Hall (64) and Matthew Rapson (79) - and the Reds couldn't respond. An unhappy half for the hosts ended with a yellow and then a red card for McNamee, apparently after some kind of confrontation following a foul.

The Lobsters remain in the top six in the Premier South.
