An unbeaten run of five games, which most recently included a hat-trick of wins, came to an end for Redhill at Kiln Brow on Wednesday night as Beckenham Town clinched promotion to the Isthmian League with a thumping 4-0 win.

The Lobsters had a difficult start on a relatively mild evening, conceding twice in the first 16 minutes before their biggest league crowd of the season. After just three minutes a Becks free-kick from the left was turned into the path of skipper Danny Waldren completely on his own inside the box and he rifled in a shot as the Reds appealed in vain for offside.

Then Tom Drinkwater mistimed a challenge near the halfway line and ex-AFC Wimbledon striker Louie Theophanous ran through to fire into the bottom left corner from a good 25 yards. Beckenham were 3-0 ahead at the break, as they had been in Redhill's away fixture at Eden Park Avenue in January, Theophanous blasting in his second that Jack Minchin was close to saving on 38 minutes.

The Lobsters tried hard to create chances in the second period but were restricted to a couple of long-range efforts, one from Jason Kaate proving slightly problematic for 'keeper Nick Blue, and Becks substitute Jamie Humphris tapped home a fourth a minute from time to make it the Reds' heaviest defeat of the campaign. But they will remain in the Premier South's top six, which compares very well to previous seasons.

Redhill: Minchin, Edwards, Stone, Copeland (Monga), Drinkwater (McNamee), Dyett, Hayford (Peacock), Jarrett, Kaate, Brissett, Watson (Atkins)
