The Lobsters fine form came to an end at Hanworth Villa.

Redhill's up and down season continues. Less than a fortnight after that hugely impressive win at table-topping Ascot United, the Reds found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline yesterday against bottom side Hanworth Villa on a dull afternoon at Rectory Meadow.

The Villains were fighting for their Premier Division lives after a wretched run that had seen them win only two of their previous 23 matches in all competitions and fail to win a single league game at home. The Reds unwittingly gave the struggling side a boost by conceding a poor goal after just three minutes. 'Keeper Jack Minchin tried to deal with a bouncing ball a yard or two outside the box knowing that he couldn't handle it. A defender moved in to assist but alert home striker Walker was left with the simple task of shooting into an unguarded net.

But Redhill responded quickly. Walker took advantage of more hesitancy in the Reds' defence and left-winger Roberts had the yard of space he needed to curl a right-footer past Minchin and into the far corner.

There was a definite sense that Hanworth were holding on to what they had in the second half, namely a two-goal advantage, and their whole team was brought back to help out in defence. Redhill found it hard going on a heavy pitch as they sought to conjure up a goal that would have made the closing stages interesting. Two minutes from time Roberts broke forward to notch his second and the Villains' fourth after some more messy defending. It summed up a disappointing afternoon for the Reds
