Redhill won their second home game of the season over Division one Bagshot to progress to the next round of the FA Vase. It looked as though it would be a comfortable afternoon for Barry Wilde's side but the visitors had other ideas and pushed the Reds all the way.
Mo Diakite played alongside Jordan Martin at the back as Jon Trotter was unavailable, Evan Lopes was back in the side and played out on the right with Eddie Mbango on the left. Jordan Harrison was preferred to Sam King up front.
The home side made the perfect start, Abisogun beat three Bagshot defenders before crossing for Lopes to slot home after 2 minutes to give the Lobsters an early lead. Abisogun had started brightly and his free kick had to be pushed over by Allen in the Bagshot goal. The chances continued to come for Redhill with Jordan Harrison seeing his effort turned on to the post.
The Lobsters finally got their second on 22 minutes when Evan Lopes got his second, showing great feet to work some space and sliding the ball under Allen to make it 2-0. Jordan Martin nearly got in on the act when his header flashed past the post from a corner.
Bagshot hadn't really threatened but had a foothold in the game 5 minutes before the break Edward Cardona with a neat finish to give the visitors hope. That hope drifted away a minute before half time as Jordan Martin turned into the net to give the Reds their two goal cushion back at the break.
It was a quiet start to the second half the Reds not really testing Allen until the hour mark, the keeper making a good stop from a Jordan Harrison strike. The Bagshot keeper was in great form but he could do nothing to stop Evan Lopes from securing his hat trick as he burst through the visitors defence to make it 4-1.
If the Reds thought they would have a comfortable last 15 minutes Callum Eaton had other ideas, the right back found the top left hand corner giving Jack Minchin no chance with a thunder bolt of a strike. It was game on with 5 minutes to go when Elliott Cardona found the net to set up a nervy finale.
The home side held on though and will be in the hat for the next round.
