Redhill won at Fleet to continue their impressive record of not losing to any team outside the top six this season.

Fleet Town 2 Redhill 3 - Saturday, 12th March 2022

Paul Barnes' Redhill quickly bounced back from Tuesday night's disappointing result to pick up another three league points at the weekend. The Lobsters edged Fleet Town 3-2 after being 2-0 down at Crookham Road and have now won three Premier South fixtures on the bounce scoring an impressive 13 goals.

Fleet were a modest 16th in the table but had claimed victories in their last three matches, two of them away, and started confidently. After seven minutes home skipper Wensley headed over with only Jack Minchin in front of him and then atoned a minute later with another header from a free-kick on the left that dropped gently into the net for the opener. Lucas Atkins, played in by Jamarie Brissett, and Alpha Diallo from distance had shots saved by Fleet's giant 'keeper Sanneh before Vary broke clear of the Reds' defence to fire past Minchin for 2-0 on 33 minutes.

For a while it looked grim for the visitors but they proceeded to net twice, on 37 and 39 minutes, to bring themselves level at 2-2. Brissett, for once not surrounded by defenders, slipped the ball across from the right and Jason Kaate tucked it home. Then Jack Knight took advantage of a mix-up to take the ball away from Sanneh and flick it up into the middle for Kaate to turn in a second.

Three minutes into the second half, improbably, Redhill were in front. Jack Wadmore, wearing the armband again, passed to Brissett in the centre circle and the Lobsters' magical winger went on a determined run, the ball bobbling all over the place, that ended with him taking the ball round the 'keeper and slotting it home. Knight, Diallo and substitute Lee Peacock could all have made the result safer in one-on-ones with Sanneh and then Fleet missed a simple chance to level in stoppage time. It would have been only their second draw in 29 league matches this season.
