Captain Joe Dyetts header deep into stoppage time earned the Lobsters a point.

Redhill 1 Camberley Town 1 - Saturday, 5th February 2022

Skipper Joe Dyett's late header earned Redhill a point in a 1-1 draw against Camberley Town as ex-Guildford City boss Paul Barnes made his debut as the Lobsters' manager.

The home side were missing Sam King, Sam Tutt, Nathan Hogan and Matt Mackenzie - all of whom have reportedly followed Harrison Williams to South Park - but they made a confident start in a cold wind at the Brow with a lot of possession leading to two early chances. Jamarie Brissett, switched to the left flank, fired in a shot on the run which just missed the far post and Dyett's header from a Brendan Murphy-McVey free-kick went a foot over the bar.

But the Reds found it difficult against a multi-layered Camberley defence and in their only real chance in the rest of the half Noe Vendrells, recalled to the right, lobbed wide of an open goal after visiting 'keeper Adam Melville had rushed out to the edge of the box. Then the second half started badly for Redhill, Ashley Elson walking the ball into the net after a mix-up between Jack Minchin and two defenders within a minute of the restart.

The Lobsters attacked with increasing desperation as they tried to get back on level terms. Jack Knight, his red card at Raynes Park Vale rescinded after filmed evidence, typically charged at the Camberley defence several times but was often outnumbered three or four to one. Danyaal Iqbal had a close-range effort blocked with Melville out of his goal and a 30-yarder from Murphy-McVey thudded against the right-hand post.

Importantly, Redhill continued to try and find a way through and they got their reward six minutes into stoppage time as Dyett back-headed Jack Wadmore's long throw into the far corner.
