Frimley Green 1 - 2 Redhill

Paul Heasman4 Oct 2022 - 11:30

Saturday, 1st October 2022, three more points in the bag.

Frimley Green 1 Redhill 2 -

Redhill kept their good run going - they have only lost one of their last ten matches in league and cup - with a 2-1 win at Frimley Green that took them up one place to sixth in the Premier South table. They have games in hand on three of the teams above them and are due to meet one of them - Abbey Rangers - in a huge clash at the Brow on Tuesday evening.

There were no real chances at the Recreation Ground on Saturday until Carl Oblitey did some good work inside the box before shooting just wide for the visitors on 14 minutes. The Lobsters had played some impressive stuff in that first half but found themselves trailing to a 36th-minute goal for the Frimmers at the break.

With more than an hour gone Redhill were still behind to a team who were 12th in the table at the kick-off. Then, with "Simmo" at the helm for the third time, they had a superb eight-minute spell in which they scored twice and also hit the woodwork.

Oblitey nodded home the equaliser from a lofted left-wing cross, right-back David Orisatoki burst into the box to fire in a shot that clipped the top of the bar and Max Oldham's firmly-struck cross was turned into his own net by a Frimley Green defender for the Lobsters' winner.
