The new look midweek U18s picked up their first three points of the new season.

Redhill U18s won their first game of the season with a 2-1 win over Sutton Common Rovers. A goal in each half was enough for the Reds who bounced back from a tough start to life in the CCL East Division.

Rovers made a good start to proceedings and carved out a couple of early opportunities, but Taylor Hogan pulled off two fine stops to keep the visitors out. The Lobsters grew into the game and showed a great attitude, while becoming more of a threat going forward.

They took the lead midway through the first half Jamie Harris tucking his effort into the corner after a flowing move down the right, to give the Lobsters a half time lead.

Redhill looked comfortable at the start of the second period and after a mix up at the back by SCR Jacob Clark was on hand to fire home from 25 yards to make it 2-0.

Rovers found a way back into the game with 20 minutes to play, when a strike that was heading wide struck a defender and flew past Hogan in the Reds goal, to set up an intriguing end to the game.

The Lobsters had to defend with their bodies on the line late on as Sutton looked for an equaliser, there was danger in the dying seconds when the visitors had one last free kick, but once again the Reds defended well and the final whistle blew.

A great win after a very tough start, which will give the squad confidence going into the derby with Horley in two weeks time.
