Two second half strikes saw the Reds take all three points.

Redhill maintained their fine form with an impressive victory at Gander Green Lane. The Reds faced one of last season's top teams in Sutton Common Rovers and showed the progression they've made from the opening week of the season.

The back four and debutant Matt Pierson in goal repelled anything Rovers threw at them, with Harry Stow leading by example at left back with a faultless display. It was a very even first period with Redhill happy to soak up anything the home team had to offer, while looking very dangerous on the break with speedsters Kedze and Burford driving into Sutton's half whenever they could.

It was Kedze who had the first chance for the Reds when he scuffed a shot wide, and Steve Burford also saw an effort fly past the Rovers goal. Redhill had a good shout for a penalty turned down just after the half hour, when Tony Halsey went down in the area, but the referee waved away the appeals. Arguably the best chance the Lobsters had of breaking the deadlock in the first half came when they broke in numbers, but couldn't find the right pass to open up Sutton, meaning it was all square at the interval.

If Gavin Gordon's men had been happy to play on the counter-attack in the first period, the second half saw them take control of proceedings as they started to knock the ball around. The Reds were causing the home team problems from set-pieces and nearly found the lead when a long Tony Halsey throw just eluded Tijani Eshilokun. The breakthrough came from Halsey who gave Redhill the lead on 53 minutes, nipping in to head home a beautifully whipped in corner from Kedze making it five in five for the in-form striker.

Rovers looked to respond to their set back, getting the ball into the Red's box at every opportunity, but finding the Lobsters back line in defiant mood. At the other end, Jon Trotter was agonisingly close to doubling the Reds lead when his header was just touched behind for a corner. It was 2-0 with ten minutes to play though, sub Francis Tango did well to break through midfield, he looked up and found Steve Burford, the winger composed himself and then drilled home from a tight angle to give Redhill some breathing space.

The impressive Tango nearly found a third in the last minute as he went through and lobbed the keeper but it was cleared off the line. The Reds kept going to the end, a third wouldn't have flattered as they confidently moved up to fifth in the table with a second consecutive away win in the league.

Manager Gavin Gordon will have been delighted with the goals and a clean sheet, and the composure shown by Charlie Cooke, Lewis Taylor, Jon Trotter and Harry Stow across the back line. With this kind of disciplined performance the Reds will fear no one!
