Jack Minchin was the hero in another penalty shoot out victory for Harrison Williams Lobsters.

Report - David Barber

Harrison Williams' talented young Redhill side continue to progress on all fronts. Yesterday they reached the First Round Proper of the FA Vase after winning away at Southern Combination outfit Alfold - but they needed penalties to do it!

The Reds had cruised through in the last round against East Preston, who were second from bottom in the same league as Alfold, but "The Fold" were in fifth spot and were always going to be more difficult opponents. They confirmed it after just four minutes of yesterday's contest on the Surrey/Sussex border, teenage midfielder Kilkenny firing an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner after finding himself in space on the edge of the box.

But the Lobsters were level inside two minutes. Skipper Joe Dyett's aerial power has made him a threat from corners all season and he headed Danyaal Iqbal's right-wing kick high into the net at the far post despite the presence of several defenders on the line. Iqbal later had a "goal" chalked off for offside and it was still 1-1 at the break.

Redhill missed a host of chances in the second half but home 'keeper Osei was in good form too to deny Iqbal and Vendrells. Kilkenny chipped Jack Minchin from outside the box for his second goal on 64 minutes, completely against the run of play, and there was some nervousness until Aiden Brown controlled Jaden Edwards' perfect pass and slotted home the equaliser 12 minutes from time. Jarrett, Hogan, Dyett and Iqbal were successful with their kicks in the shootout and Minchin was a hero again with two blinding saves.
