Redhill had to settle for a point at Molesey after missing numerous chances at Walton Road.

In-form Redhill would have expected to beat a team bottom of the Combined Counties League who had lost 13 of their 14 Premier Division fixtures this season and had only managed one goal in their last nine matches. But Molesey had drafted in five new players and defended as though their lives depended on it to hold out for a 0-0 draw that was a massive result for them. The Lobsters did everything but score in a second half in which driving rain made a heavy pitch even heavier and more difficult to play on.

Redhill almost took the lead in the second minute, Mo Diakite's towering header at the far post being deflected onto the bar. Two Nathan Hogan free-kicks, the second a "falling leaf" from a central position just outside the box, missed the goal by inches. Then the Moles' new 'keeper Maddock saved well from Aiden Brown's left-foot blast.

The home side rarely threatened in attack, perhaps not surprisingly, though their defence continued to do sterling work. But the chances still kept on coming for Redhill. Two Joe Dyett headers from set-pieces flashed wide, Maddock had to deal with a couple of Sam King piledrivers and a blistering shot from substitute Josh Phillips took some splinters off the top of the crossbar.

Mo just missed from close in, then substitute Noe Vendrells did the same, but the ball just wouldn't go in for the frustrated Lobsters as the final whistle approached. Two minutes into stoppage time Molesey's left-back saw red after two yellows, an opposition player having now been dismissed in each of Redhill's last three matches.
